Wall Street’s Bailout Hustle : Rolling Stone
God bless MATT TAIBBI. He got it right again!
This is the most important issue in America right now and the only magazine to deal with it right is Rolling Stone?
Goldman Sachs and other big banks aren't just pocketing the trillions we gave them to rescue the economy - they're re-creating the conditions for another crash.
I have to admit, I do have a soft spot for Jann Wenner.
Incidentally, America's ruling class should be hopping mad they're getting fleeced by this corrupt executive compensation system. The bankers run their businesses into the ground because their bonuses are based on year-on-year performance.
That is to say, the easiest way for me to double profits from one year to the next is to crash the company first. Then I can do a mediocre job and look like a rockstar.
Holy wow! AT&T admits NYC/San Fran 3G service sucked
A recent AT&T earnings call consisted of a lot of talk talk talk but one slide stands out: it essentially admits that 3G in San Francisco and New York sucked ween AKA were both far below their official performance objective.
Observations: Running barefoot is better, researchers find
Mother Nature has outpaced science once again: the bare human foot is better for running than one cushioned by sneakers. What about those $125 high-tech running shoes with 648 custom combinations? Toss 'em, according to a new study published online January 27 in the journal Nature (Scientific American is part of Nature Publishing Group).

Chrome Imitating IE
A new Chrome extension allows you to render a web page in a standalone tab as if it were Internet Explorer.
I've been dreaming about this. No more switching browsers.
Check out the Chrome IE tab.
Schweet.
And now…
Pretty permalinks!
It took a lot of work and a lot of research, but now that we're on a Linux server we can do real pretty permalinks. Check it out - now when you click on an article the page's URL is nicely formed using the article's publication date and title.
New Server!
We just moved over to a new server and a new host. We'll see how it goes from here.

Time and Eric Awesome Show Live
Last night I got to go to Tim and Eric Awesome Show Live 2009 and I was not disappointed. I was a little uneasy with the idea of the comedic duo performing live, but I should've known better. With Bob Odenkirk lending his experience and support, the show had all the polish and lustre I could have hoped for.
It was my first time to Club Nokia (or to LA Live for that matter) and we got slightly disoriented finding the venue. Parking was relatively inexpensive ($10, compared to the $25 I'd normally pay to park near Staples on the night of a Lakers game) and plentiful, just a short walk from the center of the complex.
We had to dodge a large crowd queued up for the Conga Room, and got to peek inside the Lucky Strike Lounge.
I really enjoyed the performance. I won't ruin the ending, but let me just say I'm seriously considering buying a hot tub.
