Furthermore, the city also plans to buff the murals on Melrose, which have served as an outdoor gallery for thousands of Angeleños for the past few years and drawn thousands of visitors to the city.

A mechanical failure that was initially believed to be a pipe bomb caused damage to a roof near a Jewish synagogue early Thursday morning.
The incident took place near the Chabad House of Santa Monica at 1448 17th Street at 6:45 a.m. Some debris from the explosion landed on a nearby roof, but no injuries were immediately reported.

Pisses me off.
A woman who commissioned young artists to create the mural on a bare wall beside her house was fined $360 by L.A.’s Department of Building and Safety and faced an additional fine of $1,925 if the mural wasn’t removed.
Seriously? This is LA city dollars at work? Fix the @*%& roads already!!
This is one department that can have its budget cut. For show.

Cell phone photos from a few hours ago. There were cops and cones at every street and alley for three blocks surrounding the Santa Monica Synagogue at 1448 18th Street in Santa Monica.
I knew it was bad when I saw even the Park Rangers were there helping. I guess they ran out of parking peeps.
