I was in Little Osaka earlier today when I got a mobile alert from Twitter. I’d started following @dimsumtruck a few days earlier. The tweet stated,”We’re soft-opening in West LA! Free dumplings for whoever finds us!!” I was walking back to my car as I read this and thought, “Where in West LA would the Dim Sum Truck park?”

I turned around and saw this. What luck!

Papa Cristo’s

Papa Cristo’s makes some damn fine Greek food. If you get stuck on the 110 freeway while travelling through downtown, you might want to stop off and check it out. There’s a little market with specialty foods and a nice patio section that’s fenced off from the street.

Galco’s Soda Pop Shop

I’ve been wanting to check out Galco’s Soda Pop Shop for a while. We finally got a chance to check it out and I was not disappointed.

Galco’s has an amazing variety of soda’s I’ve never seen anywhere else. There is a soda made from rose petals and one that is made with cucumbers. It’s actually quite good.

If you have the chance, take an hour and drive out to Highland Park. The address is 5702 York Blvd.
