birthday

i’m going to be 32 in one month.

that’s 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2.

and i decided to look up what was happening that day, february 28, 1976. i’ve been told i was born around ten pm that evening.

it was a saturday night. andy kaufman guest starred on snl that night. “Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead!”

it too was an election year, as well as a leap year.

apparently the grammy awards were held that night. it must have been hard for my dad to miss it.

there was a hockey game between two teams called the Cincinnati Stingers and the Houston Aeros. the stingers lost.

“Dr. Boonsanong Punyodyana fell to an assassin’s bullet
at about 1:30 a.m. on 28 February, 1976.”

The Theme from “S.W.A.T.”, the television program, reached #1 on the Billboard Magazine Hot 100 singles chart in the United States on Saturday, February 28, 1976.

Madagascar recognized the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Western Sahara’s government in exile.

I share my birthday with Australian rugby player Darren Albert, actress Ali Larter, Australian Olympic swimmer Angela Kennedy, and Mexican American Professional wrestler Jeffery Aaron Aguilera.

Maxed Out

ARGHHHHHH!

I just watched Maxed Out. I would put this at the top of my recommendations list.

At least until I calm down.

“The film has its share of jaw-dropping moments. Did you know, for example, that while you need to sweat out your credit report, the credit bureaus keep a special “V.I.P.” list of prominent citizens whose reports are specially tidied up so they look cleaner than they really are? If the big boys never experience the harassment or increased costs of a credit ding, then they are a lot less likely to insist on more legal oversight. There are many ways to lobby, and this one requires no reporting at all.”

- Elizabeth Warren, a Leo Gottlieb Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. She teaches contract law, bankruptcy and commercial law.

Personally, I am most curious about the VIP List for credit reports.

Why?

Last night I was asked why I have a fascination with movies like, “Why We Fight” and books like F. William Engdahl’s A Century Of War: Anglo-American Oil Politics and the New World Order.

I didn’t know the answer when I was first asked the question. But I think I’ve come closer to
knowing the answer. It’s because ”Why?” is the most important question you can ever ask.
